Precautionary Measures for Your Car and Home

The Best Resource for Neighborhood Alerts

By: Barabara Lipkin

Nixle.com has been busy- 2 alerts today. They are just sensible reminders for us all. How many of us agents have put our purses or iPads on the floor of the back seat while we are showing property? That doesn’t cut it. Keep your car locked and your valuables out of sight in the trunk. If a thief can’t see it, chances are he or she won’t break your window to get it.

With summer coming, we tend to leave our windows open. Lock your doors when you leave and don’t leave your windows open unless you secure the frame with a stick. Keep your bushes around windows trimmed, post alarm signs in your yard and post a beware of dog sign. If it looks hard to break in, your home will probably not be the one thieves will pick.

You do have control. Along with these precautions, consider signing up for www.nixle.com for alerts.
